Linda Berg is a musician and actor living on Martha’s Vineyard.
She has music directed productions for both The Vineyard Playhouse and Island Theater Workshop. Some include Annie, Sound of Music, She Loves Me, Falsetto’s, Closer Than Ever, a musical revue by Maltby and Shire, and most recently Sondheim’s Into The Woods.
She directs ITW’s Children’s Theatre of Martha’s Vineyard, a musical theater summer program. She has written scores for all of the original shows. Just recently, Beanstalk! The Musical! has been published by Baker’s Plays. The last two years she’s written book, lyrics and music for CT’s productions. She wrote the score for the Vineyard Playhouse’s production of Arthur’s Christmas. |
Linda has sung in two operas; Menotti’s Amahl, and Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel.
She’s had singing roles in Gypsy, Fiddler on the Roof, and Nunsense.
Some of her straight dramatic roles include Estelle in Satre’s No Exit, Winnie in Becket’s Happy Days, Nancy in Albee’s Seascape and the title role in Phaedra.
She has directed several One Acts for the Vineyard Playhouse and Island Theatre Workshop.
She is currently organist and choir director at the Congregational Church in West Tisbury and teaches voice and piano during the school year.
